Well, I got a 2nd job, which is dragging my sorry butt out of debt nicely. As a result, my fingers are starting to itch to work on a new costume, something that will really blow the judges away and haul me out of my Novice Devision status. So as of now, I begin work on my Sizer crosstume from Violinist of Hamelin. I'll be taking pictures as work progresses.
Methinks I'll be starting with the wings, since the armour will need to be able to accomodate them, and other than that her costume is rather simple. I'll be doing the scythe last, since I'm planning to make it out of fiberglass(no I didn't learn my lesson last time I worked with that stuff) and it needs some pretty warm weather to harden properly. So I might set up the framework for the blade, but I'm not going to fill it in until next spring most likely.
So yes, things are finally going to start looking a little less sorry on this here DA page =3

I guess most people don't really look at this group as any sort of a real business. Much like LJ, it's just a bunch of people talking and showing each other their work, therefor people forget that there really is some sort of official group behind it all, not just some guy in his basement.

I guess my point is, I've read much of what's been posted on Jark's site and what other people have written about that. But it seems to me that this is more a decision made by the board of directors, not just some guy trying to be mean. I hear people clammoring for explanation or reversal of the desisions made. But give me a break, we're the consumers of this company. Since when has any major company had to make everything they do public?

Protesting the desision is fine. If you refuse to use this company's service then I'm sure they'll take notice of that. But I just don't see what the big deal is honestly.

Finally got off my rump and got a few pics of my latest work up ^^

I've made a few(read one) upgrades since this. Namely, I've gotten a much better wig, one that actually depicts the appropriate hairstyle for my character I hope to do a photo shoot in that version some time next month. I also want to do a bit of photo editing on some of my other shots, add some neat special effects and whatnot. Alas, I know not the ways of Photoshop

Right, so I finally figured out that I can use this thing for more than looking at other people's artwork and commenting

I have to say I was astounded at the number of comments already on my page, I really wish DA had something that alerted you to that, just something that would pop up and say "Hey! Soandso just put something up on your page!" Sure it's just a bunch of "That's for adding me to your watch list" comments, but I still feel kind of bad for not realizing they'd been talking to me and being silent all this time

Anywhoo, I'm currantly working on a few things that I'll be putting up here, I'm assuming from what I've seen that cosplay is a legitimate artform here so NYAH! I can't draw to save my life but I can sew like nobodies business! *strikes a pose* Procrastination Man away!
